SUMMARY
Provide patrons, hotel/suite guests, and club member's assistance with luggage, inquiries, and other customer service needs. The Bell Person provides quality, 4 Diamond Service to guests that meets or exceeds expectations by anticipating guest needs, always maintaining a polite, friendly, professional demeanor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets guests, visitors, and patrons with a smile.
- Provides quality service to guests that meets or exceeds expectations by anticipating guest needs and always maintaining a polite, friendly, professional demeanor.
- Assists guests with luggage, obtains taxicabs, answers inquiries and delivers amenities.
- Responsible for proper tracking of guest and employee laundry.
- Assists front desk by answering PBX, filing registration cards and notifying guests by telephone of deliveries (i.e. automobiles, packages) or arrival of visitors.
- Is familiar with different room types and property layout.
- Delivers newspapers and mail and responds to other guest requests.
- Performs beach crew functions such as setting up beach chairs and umbrellas during the off season and assists Beach Crew as needed during periods of high volume.
- Performs security rounds, monitors perimeter, ensures doors are locked, and checks for room service trays on floors, halls and corridors.
- Signs Bell Person keys (hotel rooms, entrances, exits, etc.) in and out upon arriving and leaving work.
- Ensures lobby area is clean and tidy.
- Monitors hotel entrances to ensure that only authorized personnel, guests, and/or visitors enter.
- Responds to all guest, visitor, employee, and patron requests in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Provides assistance to Housekeeping and other departments during periods of high volume if requested by manager.
- Other duties may be assigned.
OUTCOME
The Bell person position is the guests' initial point of contact and will strongly influence guest impression of the total organization. Prompt and continuous efficient service will contribute to guest comfort and satisfaction.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in English to customers, clients, members, guests, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
