SUMMARY

Responsible for bookkeeping functions, statement preparation, payroll account reconciliations, labor analysis reporting, and general system controls. Will be working with and reporting to Senior Assistant Director of Finance. Promotes and follows LJBTC, Inc.'s Signature Service standards and requirements ensuring a lasting impression of exemplary service resulting in supremely satisfied and loyal members and guests


Full Time Exempt

Pay Range: $85K -$100 yearly


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the month end closing of the accounts to prepare the financial statements on a timely basis. In addition, the accurate and timely preparation of managerial reports and statements; preparation of various analysis, statements and reports as requested.
  • Ensure all payroll bank accounts are reconciled monthly. Ensure all sub schedules for receivables and payables balance to the balance sheet accounts; all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and all corrections are posted accurately.
  • Ensure that established systems of internal controls are adhered to and work with company and accounting staff to correct where necessary. With the Asst Director of Finance and the Director of Finance and department heads, work to improve systems and internal controls with the goal of ensuring cost effectiveness.
  • Assist with development of new financial reports in Oracle Netsuite ERP.
  • Assist with development of new analysis reports/worksheets for payroll and labor management.
  • Assist with development of critical date list, contract and capital expenditure schedules
  • Liaison with company management and department heads to better serve guests and other staff.
  • Through courses, trade publications and memberships in accounting and hotel organizations, keep up-to-date on all tax, legal and accounting issues to best serve the company.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with supervision and development of hourly associates in the Accounting department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Business/Accounting; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five + years' experience in a hospitality finance or accounting role preferred. Prior payroll reconciliation experience preferred. Prior experience utilizing Oracle Netsuite Financial ERP and creating Microsoft excel worksheets strongly preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate levels. The property is currently under construction so there may be certain days/shifts with sustained amounts of construction noise.

SCHEDULING

This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Be aware that at times it may be necessary to move you from you accustomed schedule as task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the number of hours that you work.
